1964 Lincoln Continental (1961-1969)

This 1964 Lincoln Continental convertible is said to have been first registered in California and was later acquired by the seller’s uncle in 1992. A subsequent cosmetic refurbishment was performed that consisted of painting the body white, reupholstering the cabin in red leather, and replacing the convertible top. The car was later inherited in 2020 by the seller, who commissioned resealing of the 430ci V8 and rebuilding the dual-range three-speed automatic transmission. The power top was also overhauled and rebuilt, and additional work included rebuilding the fuel pump, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and window and vent motors, along with replacing the tires, exhaust system, seat belts, starter, battery, rear shocks, radio, and speakers. This Continental convertible is now offered with owner’s manuals, service records from current ownership, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The fourth-generation Continental was refreshed in 1964 with a longer 126″ wheelbase, vertical grille accents, a revised rear deck trim panel, and a relocated fuel filler door on the left quarter panel. This example left the factory finished in Huron Blue (Q) and is said to have been refinished in the current shade of cream white under prior ownership in 1992. The power-operated white convertible top was recovered in 1992, and additional equipment includes chrome bumpers and trim, a left-side mirror, rear-hinged rear doors, and a retractable antenna. Steel 15″ wheels wear full covers and are mounted with Vitour Galaxy thin-whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted drum brakes. The seller reports the master cylinder and wheel cylinders were rebuilt, and the rear shocks, steering box spacers, power steering filter and fluid, and brake lines were replaced. The front and rear bench seats were upholstered in red leather in 1992 and are joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Additional equipment includes a power-adjustable front seat, lap belts, folding center armrests, power windows, vacuum-operated power door locks, and an AM radio with replacement Hertz speakers, an ARC Audio Moto 600-4 amplifier, and a Bluetooth antenna. The seller states cushions and buttons were retied, the front seat control was refurbished, the electric window motors and front vent motors were rebuilt, and the glove box and dash lights, NV regulator, top support bar, and windshield wiper motor were replaced. The dashboard clock is inoperative. A red three-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 6,600 miles, approximately 1,100 of which have been added under current ownership. The total mileage is unknown. The 430ci V8 was factory rated at 320 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque and features a four-barrel carburetor that was rebuilt in 2021.
