“ eteen-sixty-five was the last year for the 365-horsepower, L76 high-performance version of the small-block engine” and this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible was fitted with it, the seller states. “Its lighter weight, versus a big-block-equipped Corvette, makes the car better balanced and better handling.”

“It’s also a highly optioned, ‘numbers-matching’ example in great condition,” he adds. “The car has Kelsey- es knock-off wheels, a close-ratio four-speed, Positraction, off-road exhaust, and the convenience group, which includes backup lights, day/night mirror, AM/FM pushbutton radio with power antenna, and tinted windshield.” It also comes with a white soft top, and an mine hard top that matches the factory body color.

The seller continues, “I’ve owned this Corvette since 2007. It was a fornia car before I bought it. The L76 engine starts well and runs strong throughout its rev range, and the vehicle appears to be ‘survivor’ quality.”

  • The actual mileage of this Corvette is not known.
  • The seller says the 365-horsepower, L76 327-cu.in. OHV V8 is original to the car.
  • A photo of the engine block stamping pad shows a partial VIN that appears to match the body VIN.
  • It also shows engine suffix code “HL.”
  • “HL” is correct for the 1965 L76 327 with a manual transmission and transistor ignition.

  • It also has a solid-lifter cam, large-valve heads, an aluminum intake manifold, and a y carb.

  • The vacuum advance, expansion tank, belts, and hoses have been replaced.
  • The optional close-ratio four-speed manual transmission is present.
  • So too, is a 3.55:1-geared Positraction (limited-slip) differential.
  • The seller is not aware of any previous body damage on the car.
  • He states that the code-C mine white paint “appears to be original.”
  • d interior and leather seat covers have replaced the stock code-443 white/red vinyl cabin.
  • The original clock has been rebuilt with a quartz mechanism.
  • The four-wheel disc brakes were upgraded with stainless-steel caliper sleeves.
  • Custom-made braided stainless-steel lines replaced the original brake lines.
  • Power steering was installed using a kit matching the original GM offering for 1965, he says.
  • The steering coupler and other parts were replaced with NOS pieces or reproductions.
  • All of the cast-aluminum knock-off wheels are “pristine, showing no road rash,” he notes.
  • A set of 215/70 R15 Michelin radial tires are fitted.
  • The original knock-off hammer for the wheels is included.
  • So too, is the original oil pan.
  • The mine removable hard top, with red headliner, comes with the sale.
  • The original transistor ignition is provided.
  • A Custom Wolf car cover and original owner’s manual are also included.
  • There’s a crack in the lower front valance panel.
  • The 365-horsepower, high-performance L76 327-cu.in. engine is said to be numbers-matching.
  • This car may have original paint, per the seller.
  • It features desirable extra-cost aluminum knock-off wheels and a hard top.
  • Upgrades include stainless-steel brake parts, power steering, and an aluminum radiator.
  • The stock vinyl upholstery has been replaced with leather seat covers.

The seller states that this vehicle will be sold on a clean ucky title in his name. “Although not a ‘garage queen,’ this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is an outstanding example of a C2, and an investment that can be driven and enjoyed for years to come,” he concludes.
