1965 Ford Mustang Red 289

The car was repainted red in 2012 under previous ownership and features louvered B-pillar inserts, ribbed chrome rocker trim, white side stripes, GT-style fog lamps, -style mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valance. There is corrosion under the left rocker panel. nt meter readings are displayed in the gallery. Damage/distortion of the passenger’s side floorpan and driver’s side frame rail can be seen in the photo gallery – the cause of which is unknown.

15″ n Racing Torq Thrust wheels with polished lips wear 215/65 BF Radial T/A tires. ssisted front disc and rear drum brakes feature a later-style dual-reservoir master cylinder. The tires, K B shock absorbers, and suspension bushings were installed and the brake fluid was flushed in 2021. The front wheel bearings were replaced in 2022 at which time the rear brakes were rebuilt.

The front bucket seats were reupholstered in black vinyl in 2022 and are accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, carpets, and individual rear seats with a shared folding backrest. Interior elements include Old Air air conditioning, a center console, a reverse lock-out shifter, a retro-style AM/FM stereo, and aftermarket kick panel speakers. The front seat covers are separated at their upper seams.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a sweeping 120-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 53k miles. l mileage is unknown.

The 289ci V8 is equipped with a y 650-cfm four-barrel carburetor with an electronic choke, a billet throttle linkage, a intake manifold, a pion aluminum radiator, and an MSD distributor, electronic ignition, and spark plug wires. The starter solenoid was replaced in preparation for the sale. An oil change was performed in 2022 at which time the spark plugs were replaced.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Toploader four-speed manual transmission. Thrush mufflers were fitted to the dual exhaust system in 2021.
