This 1965 Porsche 356C is a Reutter-built cabriolet that was acquired by the seller’s father out of Virginia in 1975. Power comes from a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and the car is finished in red over black vinyl and corduroy upholstery. Equipment includes a black soft top, chrome 15″ steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a twin-grille deck lid, a Bursch exhaust system, and dual carburetors. This 356C is now offered by the seller on behalf of their father with a partial tool kit, an owner’s manual, a tonneau cover, service records dating to 1971, and a clean Michigan title. Finished from the factory in Signal Red (6407), the car was repainted under current ownership in 1976 per the seller. Exterior details include a black soft top, a twin-grille deck lid, headlight guards, and body-color bumpers with chrome rear overriders. Cracks on the right front corner are shown up close in the gallery along with paint chips and blemishes around the car. Chrome-finished 15” wheels wear hubcaps with Porsche crests and are mounted with 165-series Cooper Sportsmaster GLT tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. The front bucket seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl with corduroy inserts and are joined by a color-coordinated dash pad, rear jump seats, and door panels. A Blaupunkt AM/FM radio is fitted in the factory location, and Coco floor mats line the front footwells. Red lap belts have been added for front occupants. Wear is visible on the wood-rimmed steering wheel, and the sun visors are discolored. VDO instrumentation consists of a central tachometer flanked by a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer is said to have rolled over once and shows 15k miles. Approximately 30k miles were added under current ownership. The air-cooled 1.6L flat-four is said to have been rebuilt in 1997 and features dual carburetors and a Bursch exhaust system that exits behind the right rear wheel. The electrical system has been converted to 12-volt operation, and the engine oil and breather hose were replaced in 2022. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
