This 1966 Mercedes-Benz 250SE cabriolet is one of approximately 950 examples produced between 1965 and 1967. The car is said to have spent time in Maryland and Florida before being purchased by the seller in 2016 and relocated to Ontario, Canada. The car subsequently underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2018 and included repainting the body in Havana Brown, refinishing the chrome trim, restoring the interior wood trim, and replacing the grille, taillights, and carpets. Power is provided by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and equipment includes a brown convertible soft top, a top boot, 14″ steel wheels with covers, disc brakes, power steering, brown leather upholstery, a Becker Grand Prix stereo, and a heater. This W111 cabriolet shows 86k kilometers (~53k miles) and is now offered with a photo of the data card and Ontario registration in the seller’s name. The car left the factory in Moss Green and was repainted in Havana Brown as part of the refurbishment in 2017, which also included refinishing the chrome trim and replacing the grille and taillights. Exterior features include a replacement brown convertible soft top, a top boot, front vent windows, a driver-side mirror, twin exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers. The 14″ steel wheels feature bright-finished covers with color-matched centers and are mounted with 215/75 Hankook Optimo tires. The suspension includes an independent double-wishbone front setup with coil springs along with a rear single-joint swing axle. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at each corner, and the car is equipped with power steering. A seized right-front brake caliper was recently repaired. The cabin features individual front seats upholstered in brown leather, and wood trim accents the dash and A-pillars. Amenities include front headrests and shoulder belts as well as a dashboard-mounted clock, a Becker Grand Prix stereo, and a heater. The wood trim was sanded and refinished and the carpets were replaced in 2018. The two-spoke steering wheel is cracked and features a chrome horn ring, and it fronts a 220-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 86k kilometers (~53k miles), approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. The 2.5-liter M129 inline-six features Bosch mechanical fuel injection and was factory rated at 150 horsepower and 159 lb-ft of torque. Recent work included draining the fuel tank and replacing the starter, spark plugs, and battery. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Decoding the data plate reveals the following information: 492 – Enlarged Heat Exchanger 535 – Interference suppression w/o radio set and automatic antenna 834 – Moss Green Metallic paint A photocopy of the data card is included in the sale, which indicates factory colors, serial numbers, and equipment. The vehicle is being sold on its Ontario registration, which serves as the ownership document in Ontario, Canada. The sale does not include a title. Filed under: fintail, w111
