This 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible was acquired by the current owner in 2003 and subsequently refinished in white, reupholstered in black, and mechanically overhauled with the installation of a 455ci V8, a Richmond Super T10 four-speed manual transmission, a Currie 9″ rear end, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and Global West control arms. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, power steering, 16″ YearOne Rally II wheels, a side-exit exhaust system, a Hurst shifter, an aftermarket AM/FM radio, and a heater. The tires and battery were replaced in preparation for the sale. This GTO is now offered on dealer consignment with an additional engine, a removed set of wheels, and a clean Oregon title. The car left the factory finished in Martinique Bronze (T), and it was later refinished in white. Features include a replacement black convertible top as well as stacked headlights, a hood scoop, a driver-side mirror, GTO badging, and chrome trim on the bumpers, window surrounds, rocker panels, and grille. The 16″ YearOne Rally II wheels were mounted with 245/50 BFGoodrich g-Force Comp 2 tires in December 2023. The car is equipped with power steering and Global West front & rear control arms. Stopping is provided by four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes. The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench reupholstered in black vinyl, and interior appointments include a Hurst shifter, seatbelts, an aftermarket AM/FM radio, a heater, and a locking glovebox. The right front and left rear speakers are disconnected. The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, and gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. Aftermarket auxiliary gauges are centrally mounted underneath the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 42k miles. The 455ci V8 was sourced from a 1971 Pontiac and is fitted with Wenzler Series II aluminum cylinder heads, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Milodon oil pan, and a side-exit exhaust system. Service in preparation for the sale included an oil change and the replacement of the battery. Compression test results are shown in the gallery. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Richmond Super T10 four-speed manual transmission and a Currie 9″ rear end with a limited-slip differential. Decoding the data plate reveals the following production information: Build Date: 07B – Assembled second week of July Style: 66-24267 – 1966 GTO two-door convertible Body: BF – Fremont, California assembly number Trim: 221 – Fawn vinyl interior trim Paint: T2 – Martinique Bronze paint, Black convertible top A Pontiac tri-power 400ci V8 and a set of removed wheels are included with the sale.
