This 1967 Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto was taken out of storage in 2016 and subsequently underwent a multi-year refurbishment between January 2017 and May 2020. Work involved rebuilding the 1,570cc twin-cam inline-four and five-speed manual transmission, reupholstering the seats in black vinyl, and refinishing the body and various suspension components as well as installing an electric fuel pump, an IMASAF exhaust system, and ATE brake calipers. The car rides on 15″ steel wheels and is equipped with a black soft top and top boot along with Carell0-branded headlamp covers, Jaeger instrumentation, and dual Weber carburetors. It was sold on BaT in October 2020, and subsequent work has included adding a PerTronix solid-state ignition, replacing the spark plug wires, and performing a tune-up. This Spider Duetto was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024 and is now offered in New York with a Certificato di Origine, refurbishment records, and a clean New Jersey title. The body was stripped and fitted with replacement fender wells and rocker panels before it was repainted in red as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. Further work at that time involved refinishing the brightwork and replacing the black soft top and top boot. Carello-branded headlamp covers, Pininfarina quarter-panel badges, and split stainless-steel bumpers are further details. The 15″ steel wheels feature polished covers and are mounted with 175/70 Verdestein Sprint Classic tires that show 2019 production-date codes. The suspension was overhauled and ATE brake calipers were installed at all four corners in 2020. The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl upholstery, which was installed as part of the 2020 refurbishment along with a replacement dashboard and heater core. A Pininfarina badge is affixed to the dash, and further appointments include a cabin heater, a locking glovebox, lap belts, black carpets, and rubber floor mats. A three-spoke steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation including an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, and driver-turned gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer is said to have rolled over and now shows 3,500 miles. True mileage is unknown. The 1,570cc inline-four features twin camshafts as well as dual Weber carburetors. Work performed as part of the 2020 engine rebuild involved machining the crankshaft, overhauling the valvetrain and carburetors, and replacing the pistons, cylinders, rings, timing chains, and water pump. An electric fuel pump and IMASAF exhaust system were also added at that time, while a PerTronix solid-state ignition and replacement spark plug wires were installed in 2021. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt along with the rear axle as part of the 2020 refurbishment. The fuel tank as well as various underside and suspension components were also refinished at that time. An Alfa Romeo Certificato di Origine will accompany the car and shows production information as well as factory colors.
