1/612 factory built 1967 L78 Chevelles.  This car was restored between 2009-2010 to very a correct “as built” concourse condition.  The car was built the third week of April (per the fisher body trim tag) 1967 at the ingham, sachusetts plant and finished in Cream, a black vinyl top, and gold interior.  The car was sold new in September 1967 at Etscovitz Motors in Fort , .  gedly, prior to being sold the car served as the owner’s demonstrator vehicle.  of right now, I believe this is the earliest built 1967 L78 Chevelle known.

Factory installed options, besides the L78, on this car consist of the following: power disc brakes, F40 (special) suspension, bucket seats, center console, walnut sport steering wheel, gauge package, vinyl top, tinted windshield, and a rear antenna.

The restorer showed the car at many national events where it scored very well.  Awards include an AACA Senior National First Prize in 2011 and urse d at MCACN in 2.

Documentation includes signed affidavits by prior owners (including the original owner), the original Protecto verified authentic by Jeff ms (renowned Chevelle Expert), and entry to the L78 gistry.   The car remained in ern until the restorer purchased it in 2008 or 2009.

The car still stands very tall, a true testament to the restoration quality.  The paint looks incredible, as does the vinyl top, and interior. The car is very sound and drives as it should.  The original numbers matching date coded M21 transmission shifts smooth up and down.  The 12 bolt 3.73 posi rear end is nice and quiet and works as it should.

The engine runs very strong and was professionally rebuilt.  It operates correctly during all operating conditions: cold start choke, low rpm, high rpm, part throttle or full throttle.  There are no flat spots, the engine drives as it should!  The solid lifters sound great and assure high rpm performance. ine work on the block (.030” over) and heads was done by d Racing nes of Lake , CA. The rotating assembly was completely balanced and blueprinted by vCo balancing in , CA.  I always run the engine on a blend of 110 octane leaded race gas and 91 octane to prevent detonation.  I changed the oil on Friday gust 23rd, 2024.  I use VR1 20W50. The engine has great oil pressure and runs cool!

The paint, trim and glass are amazing.  The glass is all date coded and the windows roll up and down very smoothly. The trim was expertly restored inside and out.  The interior consists of original GM bucket seats, the original console, and original walnut sport wheel (not a reproduction).  The optional gauge package includes the correct solid lifter 6,000rpm redline blinker tach which functions perfectly.  All the gauges work as they should except the clock, the points are burned out.  The seat belts are date coded and beautifully restored.  The gears are shifted with the original shifter.

The undercarriage is amazing. ct finishes are found throughout.  The original driveshaft was rebalanced a few years ago due to a high speed vibration, it works great now.  The car has a Gardener Exhaust system which is a correct reproduction of the original exhaust.  The spiral shocks were replaced with Bilstein shocks, painted gray to appear more correct. The steering is tight and the power disc brakes work great! I just had the brake booster rebuilt by ABS Power ke in , CA due to a small vacuum leak caused by a torn diaphragm. The car rides on 15×7 rally wheels and F70 15 redlines.  The correct 14” rally wheels are included with the sale.

This is a very nice example of a true original 1967 L78 Chevelle that you can drive with all the confidence you’d expect from a well sorted out restored car.  It is a true show stopper!  When you bring it to your local cruise in, be prepared to always hear the question, “ this a real L78?”  ou can answer, “ es, yes it is!”

ious inquiries only please. Clear CA title under my name on hand. There are a couple more videos of the car on my youtube channel including a walk around video and an in car driving video with a WOT pull and around town driving.
