This 1967 Fiat-Abarth 1000 OT Spider is said to have been acquired new by the current owner’s father and is finished in red over black upholstery. The car is powered by a 1.0-liter inline-four mated to a four-speed manual transaxle, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, 13″ steel wheels with covers, independent suspension, Carello headlight covers, a vented decklid, and a single carburetor. Service performed in preparation for the sale involved bleeding the brakes and changing the oil. Now showing 5k miles, this 1000 OT Spider is offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in Arizona with manufacturer’s literature, a tool kit, and a clean California title. Development of the Abarth-engineered OT Series was based on the Fiat 850 platform and began in the early 1960s, with the production 850 OT Berlina debuting in 1964. The 1000 OT Coupe and Spider were subsequently introduced with increased specifications and produced through the late 1960s. This example’s Bertone bodywork is finished in red and features a black convertible soft top. Further exterior details include a left mirror, a vented decklid, Carello headlight covers, and polished twin exhaust tips. A collection of paint meter readings is presented in the gallery below. Silver-finished 13″ steel wheels wear polished Abarth-branded covers and are mounted with 175/70 Pirelli P400 touring tires, while a matching spare is stored in the front trunk compartment. The car rides on a fully independent suspension with front and rear anti-roll bars. Stopping power is provided by discs up front and drums out back. The brake system was bled in preparation for the sale. The interior houses a pair of low-back bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl and accompanied by color-coordinated door panels and rubber floor linings. Woodgrain trim adorns the black dashboard, and lap belts are equipped for both occupants. The leather-wrapped steering wheel features an Abarth horn button and fronts Veglia Borletti instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for water temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 5k miles. The Abarth-tuned 1.0L inline-four is mounted at the rear and equipped with a single carburetor. Factory-rated output was 62 horsepower. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale, and compression test readings are provided in the gallery. Flaking paint is visible in the engine bay and front trunk compartment. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional underside images are presented in the gallery below.
