This 1967 Jeep Jeepster convertible was acquired as a non-running project by its current owner in March 2014. A subsequent two-year body-off refurbishment was completed in spring 2018 by Partsdude4×4 of Carson City, Nevada, which included rebuilding its 225ci Dauntless V6, three-speed manual transmission, and dual-range transfer case along with refinishing the truck in white with a replacement white soft top over a reupholstered blue vinyl interior. It also involved re-plating the chrome bumpers, rebuilding the gauge cluster and convertible top frame, and replacing the drum brakes, fuel tank, suspension, and steering box. Front bucket seats, a center console, a push-button AM radio, and 15″ steel wheels with “mag spinner” covers are additional elements. Service in preparation for the sale included replacing the battery and changing the oil. This 8701 convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of its owner with refurbishment records and a clean California title in the owner’s name. Finished at the factory in Glacier White (395), the body was stripped and underwent rust repair prior to a repaint during the project, which also included stripping and repainting the chassis, re-plating the chrome bumpers, replacing the windshield and Continental kit deck, rebuilding the convertible frame, and fitting a white vinyl ARO soft top. Close-up photos of the bright body moldings, driver-side mirror, V6 badging, and other details are shown in the gallery below. Steel 15″ wheels wearing “spinner mag” covers are wrapped in Hankook Optimo H724 tires showing 2016 date codes, and a matching spare is mounted Continental-style out back. Replacement suspension components consist of leaf springs with hydraulic shocks at the front and rear, and braking is provided by overhauled drums at all four corners. Front bucket and rear bench seats were re-covered in Marlin Blue vinyl with a matching dash pad, door panels, center console, boot cover, and carpeting. Appointments include a locking glovebox, replacement visors, a two-speed heater/defroster, and a Jeep-branded push-button AM radio that is noted to be inoperative. The color-keyed two-spoke steering wheel fronts a white-painted steel dash and a rebuilt gauge cluster housing a 110-mph speedometer flanked by fuel-level and coolant-temperature gauges as well as amperage and oil-pressure telltale lamps. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 1,800 of which have been added since completion of the refurbishment. True mileage is unknown. The rebuilt 225ci Dauntless V6 was factory rated at 160 horsepower, features odd-fire design, and is equipped with a Rochester two-barrel carburetor. Service in November 2023 included replacing the battery and changing the oil. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a rebuilt Borg-Warner three-speed manual gearbox and a Dana 20 dual-range transfer case. Additional photos from the refurbishment can be viewed at the end of the gallery, and records from the work are included in the sale.
