This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and finished in Light Ivory over tan leather upholstery. Equipment includes a brown soft top, 14″ steel wheels with hubcaps, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, Bosch mechanical fuel injection, and a Becker Europa radio. The car was acquired by the seller in May 2023 and refurbishment work included repainting the exterior, hardtop, and engine bay, as well as reupholstering the interior, and replacement of the soft top, dampers, and brakes. This W113 is now offered with a copy of the data card and a clean California title in the seller’s name. Mercedes-Benz built 5,196 250SLs between 1966 and 1968. This example was finished in Light Ivory from the factory and was repainted in 2023. Features include a removable body-color hardtop, a replacement brown soft top, chrome bumpers, and twin chrome-finished exhaust outlets. Replacement headlights and taillights were installed during the refurbishment work. The hardtop was replaced while the car was being refurbished and the associated headliner was replaced. This is a relist after the car was listed on BaT in September 2023 and withdrawn due to a mechanical issue. According to the seller, subsequent work included rebuilding the injection pump, replacing the rear differential seals, and installing PerTronix electronic ignition. Body-color 14″ steel wheels wear polished trim rings with coordinated hubcaps and are mounted with Hankook Kinergy ST whitewall tires that are said to have been replaced in 2023. Additional equipment consists of Bilstein dampers and four-wheel disc brakes. The seller states the wheel wells were repainted to match the body and that the master cylinder, center link, steering damper, brake hoses, and tie rods have been replaced. The seats, door panels, and dash trim were reupholstered in tan leather and are complemented by replacement tan square weave carpeting. Additional appointments include refinished wood trim and console, a heater, an analog clock, and a Becker Europa radio. An air conditioning unit has been installed but does not blow cold air. The door moldings and rubber were reportedly replaced during the refurbishment work along with the heater control knobs. Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and vertically oriented gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 97k miles, approximately 250 of which were added under current ownership. The 2.5-liter M129 inline-six features Bosch mechanical fuel injection and was factory rated at 148 horsepower and 159 lb-ft of torque. During the refurbishment, the engine bay was repainted and the seller states a valve adjustment and oil change were completed, electronic ignition was installed, the fuel pump and alternator were rebuilt, and the fuel tank, fuel sending unit, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, and engine mounts were replaced. A compression test was performed in July 2023 showing compression between 165-175 psi across all six cylinders. A receipt of the test is shown in the gallery below. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed floor-shifted automatic transmission. The seller states transmission mounts, the exhaust system rubber mounts, and the muffler were replaced. The engine and transmission stamps show 129982-12-001781 and 54476 respectively, which correspond with the numbers shown on the data card provided.
