This is a nice, mild restomod version of a classic ’67 GTO, where useful upgrades were made to enhance the car without attempting to transform it into something else. It’s still running a Pontiac 400 V-8, which is still backed by a TH400 automatic, shifted with the factory Hurst “his/hers” shifter, but the engine now wears a Tri-Power setup. The 3×2 setup was no longer available in ’67, but lots of Pontiac fans made the switch after being disappointed when Tri-Power was discontinued, and who could blame them? There are front disc brakes, but they still fit behind the stock-style 14-inch Rally II wheels, which now wear radials. A modern A/C system is on board, along with an aluminum radiator and electric fans. There’s also a tilt steering column and a retro-look updated stereo. The blazing Viper Red paint gives it hot rod attitude. This one is probably a great driver that hasn’t lost the essence of what made the ‘60s GTOs great.

This 1967 Pontiac GTO Hardtop Coupe was upgraded with a Tri-Power induction system, Vintage Air A/C, power front disc brakes, Rally gauges, and a tilt steering column. It was also the subject of a body-off restoration, and its frame and new suspension components were powder-coated, according to the seller, who is assisting the owner of the vehicle to get it listed online. “This car is in excellent condition and has travelled less than 3,000 miles since its completion,” he notes.

  • 42 in the second and third positions of the VIN denote the GTO.
  • The seller states that the rebuilt 400-cu.in. OHV V8 is not original to the car.
  • A 3×2-barrel induction system and mild cam upgrade have been incorporated.
  • So too, has an aluminum radiator and electric fans.
  • The Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 three-speed automatic transmission and rear end were also rebuilt.
  • No prior body damage has been reported with the current owner.
  • Per code-P on the body data plate, this GTO was factory painted Silverglaze.
  • It also had a vinyl top.
  • However, during its latest build, the exterior panels were stripped and repainted in Viper Red.
  • The chrome was replated.
  • The code-223 black vinyl interior was reupholstered, and a new carpet and headliner were installed.
  • A Hurst His and Hers shifter and console are present.
  • An aftermarket steering wheel, radio, and floormats are also in the car.
  • All-new suspension adorns the powder-coated frame, the seller says.
  • This GTO is equipped with power steering.
  • Along with the front disc brakes, the rest of the power brake system is new as well.
  • Stainless-steel brake and fuel lines were installed, as was a new fuel tank.
  • Extra-cost 14-inch steel Rally II wheels are shod with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
  • No additional items were listed for this vehicle.
  • A small scratch appears to be on the hood (see photo).
  • This 1 Pontiac GTO Hardtop Coupe will impress its new owner and show goers alike with its new bright hue and transplanted Tri-Power.
