This 1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible , A subsequent refurbishment included refinishing the exterior in Cherry Red, replacing the black convertible top, retrimming the interior in black vinyl, rebuilding the 1,641cc flat-four, and overhauling the brakes and suspension. Equipment includes a four-speed manual transaxle, front disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, chrome bumpers and overriders, front seat belts, and an AM radio. The car was refinished in Cherry Red during the refurbishment and features a replacement black convertible top along with chrome bumpers and overriders, dual-side mirrors, a vented decklid, and bright trim. A close-up photo presented in the gallery shows a touched up scratch. Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels wear chrome VW-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 165/85 Nankang tires. Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums. Work during the refurbishment included installing front and rear sway bars and replacing the steering bushing, shock absorbers, master cylinder, front discs, rear drums, and brake lines. Removed wheels and tires are included in the sale. The low-back front bucket seats and rear bench were fitted with replacement pads and were retrimmed with black vinyl during the refurbishment. A woodgrain laminate is applied to the dashboard and appointments include replacement door panels in addition to black carpets, rubber floor mats, front lap belts, a locking glovebox, and an AM radio. The two-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 90-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. Auxiliary gauges for oil temperature and oil pressure are mounted beneath the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 1,200 miles, which reflects miles accumulated since the completion of the refurbishment. The Kienzle analog clock does not work. The single-port flat-four was modified under current ownership to displace 1,641cc. The cylinder heads were rebuilt, and the following components were replaced: Crank, connecting rod, and camshaft bearings Pistons, piston rings, and wrist pins Cylinders Camshaft Pushrod tubes Lifters Oil pump Carburetor Starter Generator Ignition coil Distributor and distributor drive gear Ignition wires Voltage regulator Fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel lines Accelerator cable Fan belt Battery Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
