This 1967 Volkswagen Type 2 double cab transporter is said to have been sold new to the Arehucas distillery in Gran Canaria, Spain, and used as a delivery truck for approximately 30 years. The truck was acquired by the seller in 2021, and a subsequent refurbishment involved sheet metal repairs, a repaint in red over brown upholstery, and installation of a replacement 1,600cc air-cooled flat-four. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transaxle, 14″ steel wheels, a Solex carburetor, front disc brakes, white-finished bumpers, fold-down bedsides, safari windows, and a push-button radio. This double cab transporter is offered in Spain with a car cover, parts receipts, refurbishment photos, a bottle of Arehucas rum housed in a custom wooden box, and a Spanish registration document in the seller’s name. Previously finished in pearl white, the truck was repainted Ruby Red following sheetmetal repairs during current ownership. Replacement windows and Hella headlamps have been installed, and additional exterior details include safari windows, fold-down bedsides, a wood slat bed liner, dual side mirrors, and a white-finished VW front logo and steel bumpers. A car cover is included in the sale. White 14″ steel wheels wear polished VW-branded covers and Uniroyal RainMax 3 tires. Work performed during the refurbishment is said to have included refinishing the axles and installation of front disc brakes along with a replacement brake master cylinder and brake hoses. The cabin features low-back front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in replacement diamond-stitched saddle brown vinyl with matching door cards and body-color metal surfaces. The steering wheel, door handles, gear lever, and control knobs are finished in white, and features include a push-button radio, sliding side windows, and an aftermarket dash-mounted cup holder. Instrumentation consists of a 120-km/h speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows approximately approximately 400 kilometers (~250 miles), which is said to reflect the distance traveled since the completion of the refurbishment. True mileage is unknown. The replacement 1,600cc SSP flat-four was installed during current ownership and is equipped with a Solex carburetor that is fed via a replacement fuel tank. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The clutch was replaced during current ownership. Additional photos taken during the refurbishment are viewable in the gallery along with a number of parts receipts. The sale includes touch-up paint and a bottle of Arehucas rum housed in a custom wood box. Filed under: vw
