1968 Chevrolet Camaro Butternut Yellow Rally Sport

Please take a look at this senior-owned ’68 Camaro RS Convertible purchased from another collector years ago. This is a bone-stock original butternut yellow car with one repaint of its original colors in 2-stage base clear. Exceptional paint, fit, & finish that has been ceramic-coated. Except for paint chips on edge of driver’s door that are worthy of brush touch-up, I’d say it’s a strong 9 out of 10 for quality.
Original options include: PS, Tilt wheel, Spoiler, AM radio, Black Power Top all of which work as they should.
EXTERIOR: The body is super straight with only a slight hint of driver door sag historically from worn hinge bushings which was responsible for the minor door edge paint-loss. There is no rust in this car. e is solid. All Chrome/brightwork is near excellent throughout. No glass chips. New tercraft s and v. expensive 15″ Foose custom chrome wheels are perfect. The “redwall” is a bead on the rim that is removeable if desired—but adds a great look to the car. The top is in great shape as the car has been stored in a climate-controlled garage and looks beautiful. Tonneau cover is included and is like new.
INTERIOR: Black nyl ket Seat interior in excellent shape. New Black Carpet. console is beautiful with like-new instruments. Shifter has been added and the original shifter has been carefully saved for the purists. Sirius XM radio receiver included in the glovebox out of view. Works great. Even the antenna at decklid edge is magnetic assuring no damage to the beautiful finish.
Dash instruments work correctly showing minor fading lenses. Odometer shows 36,952 miles. Thought to be original as I have been unable to find anything on the car or historically otherwise to the contrary———just being v. realistic/up front about what I know. Dash pad is soft——not split.
MECHANICAL: This has a rebuilt 327 V8 engine. The air cleaner, intake and valve covers have been replaced with aluminum intake and chromed parts. The original parts were carefully saved/preserved to stay with the car and are included if anyone wants to put them back on. 4 speed transmission shifts as it should (easy) with no surprises. It has been well-maintained. AM radio works perfectly. Wipers works great. Even the vacuum-operated headlight doors work as they should.
This car attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes. d namely for my wife’s enjoyment, it has always been cared for by the husband. mingly anywhere we stop people ask to get photos with the car. It is very striking for its stance and super nice condition. The sale includes all saved parts original to the car, a Camaro book about Camaro RS history, a thick file of documentation etc.
Located in , Tennessee just south of ville. It’s priced competitively at $68k. ers and consignor types always ask a lot more. I’m just looking to rehome this beautiful car after the purchase of a new Corvette. The prices for high end ’68 Camaro Convertibles are seemingly all over the radar. ALOT higher than our price, but have tried to be v. realistic for an optimal buyer who can discern a good car from an overpriced rust-bucket needing maintenance etc. This is a cut above in all areas.
