This 1968 Fiat Dino Spider is one of approximately 1,133 2.0-liter V6-powered examples produced between 1967 and 1968 and was acquired by the current owner in 2016. The Dino V6 is equipped with triple Weber carburetors and mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Finished in red over black vinyl upholstery, the car is further equipped with a black convertible soft top, 14″ Cromodora wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, chrome bumpers, a wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel, and Veglia Borletti instrumentation. Work performed under current ownership is noted to have involved cleaning the fuel tank, adjusting the ignition timing, resealing the brake master cylinder, and replacing the brake booster hose, brake lines, headlights, spark plugs, fuel sending unit, speedometer cable, transmission mounts, clutch master cylinder, and exhaust system. This Dino Spider is now offered on dealer consignment with a copy of the owner’s manual, partial service records, and a clean California title. The Pininfarina-styled Dino Spider debuted at the Turin Motor Show in October 1966. This example was repainted in its current shade of red under previous ownership and was fitted with replacement headlights and chrome bumpers following the current owner’s acquisition in 2016. Noted blemishes include chips in the paint on the front fender and door edges. The selling dealer recommends replacing the black convertible soft top and states that miscellaneous trim pieces are missing. Cromodora 14″ wheels wear Fiat-branded center caps and are mounted with an older set of 205/70 Yokohama Avid Touring tires. A full-size spare is stowed in the trunk. The suspension features coil-sprung control arms at the front and a leaf-sprung live axle with quad shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners. Work performed under current ownership has included resealing the brake master cylinder as well as replacing the brake lines and brake booster hose. The front bucket seats and bolstered rear bench are trimmed in black vinyl upholstery and joined by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. The floorboards were reportedly replaced under prior ownership, and the car is equipped with a defroster, a locking glove compartment, and front lap belts. The wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel fronts Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline accompanied by a 250-km/h speedometer and auxiliary gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and water temperature. An additional water temperature gauge is mounted within the center stack along with a clock and an ammeter. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 12k kilometers (~7k miles), approximately 200 of which have been added under current ownership. The speedometer cable has been replaced, and true mileage is unknown. The Ferrari-designed aluminum 2.0-liter Dino V6 features quad chain-driven overhead camshafts, a Magnetic Marelli Dinoplex ignition system, and triple Weber 40 downdraft carburetors. Work under current ownership has included adjusting the ignition timing as well as replacing the spark plugs. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The fuel tank was cleaned, a replacement fuel-sending unit and exhaust system were installed, and the clutch master cylinder and transmission mounts were replaced under current ownership. Service records dating back to 1990 are included in the sale.
