This 1968 Sport Satellite Convertible was transformed into a . This car also retains its extra-cost A/C system, making the combination even more unique, since factory i cars weren’t available with A/C. Additional amenities included premium trim grade vinyl bucket seats, console, tinted glass, AM radio, automatic transmission, power brakes, and more.

“My father bought this from a collector in 2004, and it was his pride and joy, but sadly I can’t afford to keep it,” the seller explains. “It’s won first place at many car shows, has been garage kept, and is a rare convertible.”

gone is the original two-barrel, 383-cu.in. engine. The swapped-in four-barrel 472-cu.in. OHV V8 crate i was rated at 525 horsepower and 540 lb-ft of torque when fitted with an 850-cfm y carburetor and headers, but this engine instead features an lbrock AVS2 800-cfm carburetor, and cast-iron exhaust manifolds to feed into its Flowmaster 40-series-two-chamber-muffler-equipped dual exhaust. “The carburetor has a functional electric choke,” the seller notes, “so it starts easily. It doesn’t smoke, and if there are any weeps, they are minimal.”

The 727 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission shifts “perfectly well,” and the original rear axle gear ratio was 2.76:1, but the seller reports he has receipts showing that it was swapped for a 3.55 positraction in 2004.

ving left the assembly line in code-S Sunfire ellow, the car was refinished in that same hue at some point prior to the seller’s father purchasing it, but he doesn’t know when. theless, “The paint is absolutely excellent,” he says. A “couple of minor dings,” are present, but there is “no rust.”

The white convertible top operates properly but isn’t watertight “in a couple of places.” All the glass is “in good condition,” as is the trunk seal, but the door seals “should probably be replaced,” he advises. The scooped hood, i callouts, stripes, and GTX letters were added by a previous owner, and the exterior lighting functions as designed.

The white vinyl-upholstered seats are “in good condition,” the seller points out, and the carpet “is not perfect, but it’s in pretty good condition.” The trim code-P6D indicates white bucket seat interior with a green carpet, instrument panel, and steering wheel, but those green items have since been changed to black.

Some light surface wear and areas of discoloration are evident on the bucket seats, door panels, and armrests, and there’s pitting on the horn rim, console, door handles, and window cranks. All the gauges, including the tachometer, “work perfectly well,” as do the aftermarket Bluetooth-capable stereo. The A/C is not working, and the heater core is disconnected, so the heater does not function. Custom floormats were added.

“I don’t know how long it’s been since the suspension has been serviced,” the seller discloses, but the bushings and shocks “look good.” A front disc brake swap was performed, and the power-assisted system “feels fine. Minimal pitting is present, but no curb rash” is found on the 15-inch steel d Wheels, and the BF Radial T/A tires are “at least 10 years old.” He concludes, “The power steering works fine and has no leaks, the car tracks straight when its pointed straight, and there are no vibrations,” at highway speeds.

The seller states that this vehicle will be sold on a clean title in his name. “I have years of receipts,” he adds. This 1968 Sport Satellite Convertible GTX tribute offers the rare opportunity to own and drive a powerful one-of-none Mopar—a i-equipped B-body with A/C.
