This 1968 Triumph TR250 was acquired as a project by the seller’s father in 1984 and reportedly underwent a refurbishment that involved body repairs in addition to a repaint in white before a rebuild of the 2.5-liter inline-six and an overhaul of the suspension in 1986. Following the seller’s acquisition of the car in 2006, further work performed included the installation of an HVDA five-speed manual transmission, slotted and drilled front disc brakes, and a Surrey top. The car is equipped with American Racing Silverstone 15” wheels, triple Weber carburetors, MSD electronic ignition, an Ansa exhaust, a luggage rack, a Mountney steering wheel, and a Sony CD head unit. The water pump was replaced and the oil changed in June 2023. This TR250 is now offered with a canvas roof panel, removed parts, manufacturer’s literature, a workshop manual, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The car was repainted white with silver stripes across the hood and front fenders during a reported body-off refurbishment performed in 1986 that included body repairs. A white Surrey top composed of aluminum center and rear sections was sourced under current ownership. Additional exterior details include dual side mirrors, chrome bumpers with overriders, a luggage rack, and quad exhaust tips. Chipped and cracked paint can be seen in the photo gallery below. A rebuilt wiper motor was installed in preparation for the sale. A black canvas roof panel will accompany the car and is shown in photos. American Racing Silverstone 15” magnesium wheels feature black-finished centers and bright lips as well as faux knockoff center caps. Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus 205/65 tires show 2005 production date codes. Stopping power is provided by slotted and drilled front discs with EBC pads plus rear drum brakes. The car is said to be equipped with lowered suspension, aftermarket springs, rear tube shocks, and front and rear sway bars. The cockpit features bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl with perforated inserts and white piping. Interior amenities include a wood dashboard panel, three-point seatbelts, a heater, and a Sony CD head unit linked to Polk speakers. The seller states that sound-deadening material and trunk carpeting were installed following their acquisition of the car. Imperfections including a tear in the passenger seat are visible in the gallery. A wood-rimmed Mountney steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplemental readouts, while a Lucas gauge monitors amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 16k miles, approximately 3k of which have been added under current ownership; true mileage is unknown. The 2.5L inline-six is equipped with triple Weber carburetors, an MSD electronic ignition system, and a TriumphTune finned valve cover. The engine is said to have been rebuilt in 1986 with a 13:1 compression ratio in addition to being fitted with a 305-duration camshaft, ported cylinder heads, exhaust headers, double roller timing chain, oil cooler, a spin-on oil filter, and a larger radiator. The seller reportedly rewired the car in the 2000s, and the water pump was replaced and an oil change performed in June 2023. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an HVDA Toyota-sourced five-speed manual transmission that was fitted to the car under current ownership, and it is said to be further equipped with an Ansa exhaust system. Manufacturer’s literature and a workshop manual are included in the sale in addition to removed parts.
