This 1969 Plymouth GTX convertible was purchased new from Jackson Motors Ltd of Swift Current, Saskatchewan in Canada, and its 426ci Hemi V8 was installed under previous ownership in place of the car’s original 440ci V8. The car reportedly spent decades with a single family, and the grandchildren of the original owner imported the vehicle to the United States prior to the seller’s acquisition in 2023. Equipment includes a three-speed automatic transmission, a power-operated white convertible top, an Air Grabber induction system, power steering, power front disc brakes, Magnum 500–style 14″ wheels, dual four-barrel carburetors, a dual exhaust system, a center console, and a push-button AM radio. This GTX convertible is now offered with a Chrysler Canada letter, manufacturer’s literature, a January 1969 dealer invoice, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name. Finished from the factory in Spanish Gold (Y4), the car was repainted in gray with black lower-body and hood accents under prior ownership. Features include a power-operated white convertible top, an Air Grabber hood, chrome bumpers and trim, fender-mounted turn-signal indicators, Hemi and GTX badging, and polished dual exhaust finishers. Magnum 500–style 14″ wheels are mounted with 215/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that were replaced under current ownership. A non-matching spare is located in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The front brake calipers were rebuilt and the pads and shoes are said to have been serviced recently. The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, headrests, and carpeting. Appointments include woodgrain trim, a center console, a remote-adjustable driver-side mirror, a heater/defroster, lap belts, and a Chrysler Solid State push-button AM radio. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 6k miles, approximately 90 of which have been added under current ownership; total mileage is unknown. The steering-wheel rim is cracked. The replacement 426ci Hemi V8 was installed under prior ownership, reportedly by a Chrysler dealership in the 1980s. The engine has dual four-barrel carburetors, Taylor ignition wires, and wrinkle-black valve covers. The carburetors are said to have been rebuilt and a fluid service performed under current ownership. The radiator finish is peeling. The car left the factory with a 440ci V8 under the hood. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion is visible on underbody components, and an undercoating was applied when the car was new.
