1969 Plymouth Road Runner

This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner convertible was cosmetically refurbished and modified under prior ownership with work that involved the installation of a third-generation 5.7-liter Hemi V8 paired with a five-speed 545RFE automatic transmission. Finished in blue over white vinyl upholstery, the car is equipped with a power-operated white soft top, long-tube headers, Flowmaster mufflers, an aluminum radiator, US Mags 18″ wheels, a Lokar shifter, a push-button ignition system, and Classic Air climate control. The car was acquired by the seller in May 2020 and further modified with Wilwood disc brakes, Procar Rally XL bucket seats, LED taillights, and a Dakota Digital gauge cluster. This modified Road Runner is now offered with parts receipts from current ownership, two parade boots, the removed factory seats, spare parts, and an Arizona title in the seller’s name. Finished from the factory in Barracuda Orange (R4), the car was repainted in blue and a power-operated white soft top was installed under prior ownership. LED taillights were installed under current ownership, and additional exterior details include an Air Grabber hood, dual side mirrors, chrome-finished bumpers, “Hemi” and “Road Runner” badging, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes cracks in the paint near the decklid, a tear in the soft top, and that touch-up paint has been applied to a scrape on the passenger-side fender; these areas are pictured up close in the gallery below. Two parade boots will accompany the vehicle (one black and one white). Magnum 500-style US Mags 18″ wheels were mounted with 245/45 front and 275/40 rear Yokohama Advan Apex V601 tires in December 2021. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by blue-finished Wilwood six- and four-piston calipers over cross-drilled and slotted rotors. A Wilwood master cylinder is installed along with steel braided brake lines. The interior features replacement Procar Rally XL reclining front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in white vinyl upholstery. Dynamat sound-deadening material was applied under the carpets, and appointments include a Classic Air climate-control system, a proximity-based push-button ignition system, a Lokar shifter, Road Runner–branded floor mats, and a Chrysler Solid State push-button AM/FM radio. The removed factory seats and ignition system are included in the sale. The woodgrain steering wheel frames Dakota Digital instrumentation consisting of a digital speedometer and tachometer plus gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 1,200 miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
