This 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL has been owned by the same family for the past 29 years. It is finished in silver over black leather and powered by a 2.8-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a black hardtop, a black soft top, 14″ wheel covers, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, black leather upholstery, an analog clock, air conditioning, and a Becker Europa radio. The seller acquired the car from his father in 2019 and subsequently had it repainted. Additional service included replacing the door seals and window seals as well as converting the air conditioning to R134a refrigerant. This W113 is now offered with service records, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The car left the factory finished in Silver Grey Metallic and was partially disassembled and repainted in 2021. Equipment includes a black removable hardtop, a black soft top, chrome bumpers with overriders, a driver-side mirror, and twin exhaust outlets with polished finishers. The soft top was reportedly replaced in 1995 and the seller states the rubber exterior seals for the trunk, front windshield, hard top, and soft top were replaced during the 2021 repaint. A photo of a ding in the right rear bumper is provided in the gallery. Steel 14″ wheels wear chrome hubcaps with black inserts and are mounted with 195/70 Michelin Harmony tires. The spare is stored in the trunk, and braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs. The interior is upholstered in black leather with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Interior equipment includes a floor shifter, a heater, a Frigiking air conditioner, a VDO clock, and a Becker Europa radio. The air conditioning has been converted to R134a refrigerant. Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The 2.8-liter M130 inline-six is equipped with Bosch mechanical fuel injection. The oil was changed in July 2022. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
