1970 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible, a rare and beautiful piece of American automotive history. This classic is verified by the Marti Report to be 1 of only 60 produced in its specific factory-original paint and trim combination, making it a unique find. My best friend and I enjoy restoring cars together and this is an excellent example of taking over a stalled project and bringing it to completion for someone to enjoy. It is tough to let this one go given how unique it is, but we have enjoyed the process of getting it back on the road and ready for the next owner.

- Original Engine & Transmission: 351 Cleveland 2V, FMX Transmission. The motor and transmission are factory-original for the car, running smoothly, and fully tuned for cruising or squeezing the throttle to get the performance you need from a Cougar. The carburetor is correct and rebuilt, but not the original from the factory build

- No rust issues, never kept outside during restoration
- All vacuum lines, headlight eyelids, turn signals, gauges, and electrical systems are fully operational
- Suspension and brakes work well
- New interior upholstery and carpet, super clean
Restoration Highlights:
- This car has been under restoration since 1993, two prior owners of the project, with the past 2 years focused on completion

Known Imperfections:
- Dash is grade B, but decent shape
- Clock does not work properly
- Door ajar switches are not present
- Back up light bezels, interior visor metal have some minor pitting
- The top was manufactured incorrectly – the front bow pocket is too far forward
