This 1971 Oldsmobile 442 convertible is one of 1,304 examples built for the model year and was acquired by the current owners in 1992. A subsequent body-off refurbishment performed from 1993 to 1995 involved a repaint, an interior re-trim, and installation of a replacement 455ci V8. The car is finished in brown with contrasting gold graphics and wears a W-25–style hood as well as a power-operated white convertible soft top. On the inside, the front bucket seats are trimmed in tan vinyl and split by a center console. Additional equipment includes 14″ Super Stock wheels, power-assisted brakes, and power steering along with a split-spoke steering wheel, an AM/FM radio, and a cabin heater. This 442 is now offered in Cody, Wyoming, on dealer consignment with manufacturer’s literature and a binder of refurbishment photos as well as a clean Montana title. Contrasting gold graphics were applied to the hood and bodysides, the bumpers were rechromed, and various exterior brightwork was replaced at that time. The power-operated white convertible top is fitted with a glass rear window, and the W-25–style hood is secured with pins. Further details include “442” badging, quad headlights, dual side mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets with trumpet-style finishers.
