This 1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible underwent refurbishment approximately 7 years ago and is finished in black over red leather upholstery. Power comes from a replacement air-cooled 1.6L flat-four fitted with dual-port cylinder heads paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes chrome 15″ steel wheels, front disc brakes, a black convertible soft top, dual “pea shooter” exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Acquired by the current owner in 2018, this Karmann Ghia convertible is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in Georgia with a clean Florida title. The car was refinished in black with a matching convertible soft top circa 2017 and features dual side-view mirrors, “pea shooter” exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The chrome finish on the left side of the rear bumper is cracking. Photos taken during the refurbishment depicting cosmetic and mechanical work are viewable in the image gallery below. Chrome 15″ steel wheels wear matching hubcaps and are mounted with 185/65 BF Goodrich Advantage T/A Sport tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. The low-back front bucket seats and folding rear bench are trimmed in red leather with white piping and embroidered Karmann Ghia logos on the backrests. Black carpeting lines the footwells, and additional interior elements include a radio delete plate, hand-crank windows, a lockable glove compartment, and door map pockets. The two-spoke steering wheel wears a Wolfsburg crest center cap and frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 90-mph speedometer, and analog clock, and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 7k miles, approximately 4K of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown. The replacement air-cooled 1.6L flat-four features dual port cylinder heads and was reportedly rebuilt during the refurbishment. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery. Filed under: vw
