1972 BMW E9 Coupe

This 1972 BMW 3.0CS was reportedly sold new in Germany and was acquired by the selling dealer as a gift from his grandfather, who had purchased the car from a friend in Italy in 1995. It is finished in silver over a blue cloth interior and powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. A refurbishment was carried out in 2019 following five years of storage, and work is said to have included a repaint as well as the installation of a replacement fuel tank and pump and refreshment of the carburetors, brakes, and electrical system. This E9 is offered by the selling dealer in Palermo, Sicily with free container shipping to the port of New York and an Italian registration. The car is said to have been refinished in silver by a BMW specialist in Sicily and features chrome bumpers and trim, BMW roundels on each C-pillar, and a single side mirror. The braking system is said to have been refreshed with a replacement master cylinder and brake booster. Wood accents the dash and doors, and amenities include electric windows, a heater, and a period cassette stereo. Wear is evident on both front seats. A wood-rimmed three-spoke Nardi steering wheel features a BMW horn button and frames a 240 km/h speedometer, a tachometer, and a five-digit odometer that shows 78k kilometers (~48k miles). Total mileage is unknown. The M30B30 3.0-liter inline-six was factory-rated at 177 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.. The dual Zenith carburetors are said to have been overhauled by the selling dealer along with a refurbishment of the electrical system and replacement of the fuel tank and pump.
