1972 Citroen DS

This 1972 Citroën ID21 station wagon is said to have been delivered new to California and was refurbished under previous ownership in 2014. Work at that time included refinishing the body in two-tone blue and white as well as performing an interior refresh and radiator overhaul. The car was acquired by the current owner on BaT in March 2021, and subsequent work has involved performing a valve adjustment, repairing an exhaust leak, and replacing the fuel sending unit, spark plugs, and front suspension spheres. Power is provided by a 2,175cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, and additional equipment includes European-market swivel headlights, a split tailgate, rear jump seats, and a Clarion AM/FM radio. This ID21 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with an owner’s manual, partial service records, and a Washington State title. The body was refinished in two-tone Bleu Camargue and Cream under previous ownership in 2014, at which time replacement body and window seals were installed. European-market Marchal swivel headlights, a roof rack, and a split tailgate are additional details. Replacement side mirrors were installed in 2021, and a scratch is noted on the right quarter panel behind the rear wheel. Painted 15″ steel wheels wear chrome-finished covers on the left side and center caps on the right. Michelin XAS radial tires are mounted at all four corners. Equipment includes a self-leveling hydropneumatic suspension, power steering, and power-assisted brakes with inboard-mounted front discs and rear drums.
