This 1973 Mercedes-Benz 350SL is a European-market example that was imported to the U.S. in 1989 and was acquired by the selling dealer in July 2021. The car is powered by a 3.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and finished in silver over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes 14″ steel wheels, disc brakes, a black convertible soft top, a removable hardtop, and a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo. Work performed under the selling dealer’s ownership included repainting the body, reupholstering the front seats, rebuilding the transmission, adjusting the valves, and replacing the spark plugs, ignition wires, valve cover gasket, and clutch master and slave cylinders. This R107 shows 125k kilometers (~78k miles) and is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve in New York with manufacturer’s literature and Vermont registration. The car was finished from the factory in Astral Silver Metallic (735G) and received a repaint in 2022. The right front fender and windshield were replaced at that time, and additional exterior details include a black convertible soft top, a body-color removable hardtop, fog lights, chrome bumpers, and polished aluminum trim. The soft top windows are stained and the hardtop was not repainted and has scratches. Images detailing the condition of the exterior are provided in the gallery below. Steel 14″ wheels wear polished covers with body-color accents and are mounted with 205/70 Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes. The front bucket seats were reupholstered in black leather in October 2022, and interior amenities include rear seats, hand-crank windows, a heater, and a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo. The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 240-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 125k kilometers (~78k miles). The 3.5-liter M116 V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Work performed since 2021 is said to have included rebuilding the transmission with replacement bearings, refurbishing the clutch, adjusting the valves, and replacing the spark plugs, ignition wires, valve cover gasket, and clutch master and slave cylinders were replaced in July 2023. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery. The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold in New York on its Vermont registration.
