This 1973 Volkswagen Type 2 is a Brazilian-built 15-window Kombi that is said to have been refurbished prior to its acquisition by the current owner around five years ago. Finished in light blue over black vinyl upholstery, the van is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include a roof rack with wood slats, a split front windshield, a push-button AM/FM radio with Bluetooth connectivity, white-painted bumpers, and polished 15” EMPI wheels. This Type 2 is being offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a clean Florida title. The 15-window body was reportedly refinished in its current shade of light blue during prior ownership. Exterior features include a luggage rack with wood slats, white-painted bumpers with overriders, pop-out side windows, 1500 rear badging, and a split windshield. Polished 15” EMPI wheels are mounted with 165/80 Kumho Power Star 758 tires. Braking is through drums at all four corners. The cabin houses seats trimmed in black vinyl with rubber floor coverings and gray door panels. Equipment includes sliding front side windows, dual flip-down sun visors, and a push-button AM/FM radio with Bluetooth connectivity. A two-spoke steering wheel with an aftermarket cover sits ahead of a body-color dashboard housing a VDO 120-km/h speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 45k kilometers (~28k miles), around 150 of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The rear passenger area is accessed through dual swing-out doors on the right side of the vehicle and features two rows of bench seats trimmed in black vinyl. The air-cooled 1.6-liter flat-four sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Work since August 2021 has reportedly included an oil change along with replacement of the battery. Corrosion is visible on the underbody, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery below. Filed under: vw
