This 1974 Porsche 911 started life as a Targa model and was modified by the seller over the course of three decades to resemble a 993-generation Turbo Cabriolet. Replacement steel body panels were installed along with a power-operated soft top, and the interior was customized with a later-model dashboard, center console, and power-adjustable front seats trimmed in black leather. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged and intercooled 3.0L flat-six linked to a G50 five-speed manual transaxle and a Quaife differential, and the chassis was modified with 930-specification rear suspension components, Bilstein coilovers, and Brembo brake calipers. Air conditioning, power windows, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit were also added, and other highlights include hollow-spoke 18” Porsche Technology wheels, ported and polished cylinder heads, a PowerHaus exhaust system, and Electromotive engine management. This modified 911 is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name. Steel 993-style bodywork was installed during the build, including wide-body quarter panels, a twin-turbo-style spoiler, and power-adjustable side mirrors, and the car was repainted Arctic Silver Metallic. The windshield frame was adapted to the power-operated black soft top, and 993-specification exterior lights were added. The seller notes that the windshield wiper mechanism is incomplete and the headlights washers are not connected. A ding and cracked paint on the right front fender are shown up close in the gallery, and paint chips and imperfections are noted on the hood, left door, and fuel filler door. Staggered hollow-spoke 18” Porsche Technology wheels are mounted with 235/40 front and 295/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires showing 2023 production date codes. The car is said to ride on a torsion bar tube and rear trailing arms sourced from a 930 with Bilstein coilovers all around. Braking is handled by Brembo calipers with drilled rotors at all four corners. The cabin has been retrofitted with black leather-trimmed components sourced from a 993 including six-way power-adjustable and heated hardback sport front seats, a center console accented with carbon-fiber trim, and a dashboard with modified ductwork. Air conditioning has been retrofitted along with a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit connected to a Boston Acoustics amplifier located in the front trunk. The rear parcel shelf features a custom divider with Porsche-crest embroidery, and Arc Audio subwoofers have been mounted in removable panels constructed to replicate the appearance of lower seat cushions. Other amenities include power windows, a removable wind deflector, and polished sill plates with “turbo” script. The leather-wrapped 930S steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation consisting of a central tachometer flanked by a 180-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. A PSB-1 PowerSafe digital gauge for boost and air/fuel ratio has been mounted on the right side of the instrument panel. The five-digit odometer does not work and shows 47k miles. Total mileage is unknown. The seller states that the air-cooled 3.0L flat-six was built using ported and polished cylinder heads, Turbonetics twin turbochargers, a PowerHaus exhaust, and a custom-fabricated intercooler from SPD Performance. Additional components include an Electromotive engine management system, dual Bosch fuel pumps, and TiALSport wastegates. The car is said to have been driven approximately 250 miles since the engine was installed. Dyno test results from 2009 are presented in the gallery and measured peak output above 375 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle and a Quaife differential. An Aasco Motorsports clutch assembly has also been installed. The chassis number 9114112988 shown above is consistent with a 1974 911 Targa and matches the VIN listed on the California title.
