This U.S.-spec 1975 FJ40 Land er 4×4 was purchased by the seller in 2018 and then professionally restored. He upgraded the suspension and added a 4-inch lift kit. The roof and doors will be included but still need to be restored, he says. The original suspension components will also come with the vehicle. The seller lists many new parts below. He reports that the frame was sandblasted and treated with POR 15 corrosion-inhibiting paint. It is not indicated if the miles shown are accurate, nor how many miles have been added since the restoration.

The FJ40 Land er had become a veritable off-road icon by 1975, more than 15 years into its production run. The body-on-frame construction, solid-axle front and rear suspension, trusty 2F inline-six engine, and part-time, dual-range four-wheel drive checked all the boxes for what you needed on the trail.

The 2F 4.2-liter OHV inline-six was rated at 125 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of peak torque by the manufacturer when new. The seller does not indicate an engine rebuild but reports no mechanical issues or needs. A replacement four-core radiator and new exhaust are reported. No evidence of leaks or weeps could be seen in the provided photos. No issues were reported for the four-speed manual transmission or part-time four-wheel drive with dual-range transfer case.

The seller says the Land er’s frame was professionally sandblasted before POR 15 was applied. He says the new three-quarter body tub is 18-gauge zinc-coated steel and that the repaint was in the correct ic color. No body blemishes are indicated. The 8,000-pound rn winch is described as “factory original,” which possibly means it was a port- or dealer-installed accessory when new. fenders and bibs and running boards were new in the restoration, and all body parts were assembled using stainless steel bolts, per the seller. He indicates new exterior emblems, turn signals, and side markers, along with new stainless steel hood hooks and windshield hooks, plus a new windshield gasket. The replacement mirrors are stainless steel. noted, the vehicle doors and top will be included. The seller states “the top is in good shape, but needs to be redone, so I do have a top coat that goes with it.”

The seller says the original seats were reupholstered in gray vinyl, and new shoulder belts and seat belts were installed. The sunvisors were replaced. Photos show an aftermarket tachometer installed on the left side of the dash. No issues or needs are reported for gauges or dashboard functions.

noted, the seller had new leaf springs, shackles, and shocks installed, also giving the vehicle a 4-inch lift. New tie rods and a steering stabilizer are also noted. The original parts will be included. The BF Mud-Terrain tires are said to be new, though this may mean at the time of the restoration in 2018. DOT date codes could not be seen in the provided photos to verify the age. The seller says the steel wheels and hubcaps are original. The brake system was refurbished with a new master cylinder, brake lines, front discs, rear drums, and pads.

The seller states that this vehicle will be sold on a clean Illinois title in his name. He will provide receipts for the work done under his ownership. The next owner of this 1975 FJ40 Land er 4×4 will need to restore the doors but the hardest and most expensive work appears to have been completed for this original U.S.-market vehicle.
