1979 Citroen 2CV

The restoration of this superb, late model 2CV was just completed by one of the leading 2CV restoration specialists in the Netherlands. She truly is in ” New” condition. She was purpose built from the ground up, using a large number of NOS and new components, starting with a brand-new galvanized factory chassis.  The body shell received new floor boards, doorsills, lower fire wall, trunk floor, inner fenders and a new rear clip.  The car was assembled using all new fenders, bumpers, bumper brackets and over-riders.  A bare metal, high quality new paint job was applied inside and out.  She received new turn signal assemblies and new halogen headlight units.  er, a completely new exhaust system, new drive shaft boots, all new heater hoses, seat upholstery, cabin upholstery, fire wall and under-hood sound deadening panels, a new carpet set and a new convertible roof.  The windshield and rubber gaskets were replaced, new rubber door seals were installed.  There are five new wheel rims and five new tires.

The transmission was rebuilt.  The engine is a “ ” state of the art remanufactured unit, equipped with new spark plugs and cables, a new oil filler/breather assembly, an electronic ignition system and matching voltage regulator.  All the engine sheet-metal and heater boxes have been freshly painted.  She has a new clutch assembly, starter motor, alternator, fuel pump and a new battery.  The front brake calipers were rebuilt and new brake rotors were installed.  The rear brakes are all new, as is the master cylinder.  There are new three-point seatbelts up front, and lap belts in the rear.

Please note, the engine is brand new and will require running in.  ils come with the car.  She runs smoothly and starts at the first touch of the key.  The transmission works great.   This is a very cheerful and handsome 2CV with excellent paint and interior.  She will return great fuel mileage and is a lot of fun to drive.  These late model 2CVs have plenty of power to keep up with modern traffic in the city, and will drive along happily all day long at 65 mph on the highway.  They are famously reliable, and if you’d need anything parts are readily available and inexpensive.  An language owner’s manual is included.
