This 1979 Ford F-100 Ranger XLT was modified in a pre-runner style in the early 1980s and it was refurbished around 2010, though it retains custom fabricated components from the original build according to the seller. The truck was repainted in yellow, a 460ci V8 with Cobra Jet aluminum heads and Hooker headers was installed, and the suspension was overhauled. Additional equipment includes a C6 three-speed automatic transmission, a spool-style rear differential, removable bodywork, a tubular front bumper, a bed-mounted storage box, a spare wheel, added chassis bracing, 15″ wheels, 33″ tires, a lifted suspension, front and rear quadruple shocks, four-wheel disc brakes, and power steering as well as fixed-back bucket seats, a roll cage, an overhead console, and a fire extinguisher. Acquired by the seller in 2019 and previously listed on Bat in August 2023, this F-100 is now offered again with a clean New Mexico title in the seller’s name. The body was repainted yellow around 2010 and is equipped with a stepside bed and tubular bumpers. The fiberglass hood is secured by pins and removable, and the bedsides and fenders are also fiberglass. The truck does not have a tailgate, and additional exterior details include a solid rear window, a receiver hitch, and rear fender gravel guards. The bed contains a storage box as well as a spare wheel and tire mounted to added chassis bracing. The 15″ wheels are mounted with 33×12.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires that have 2021 production date codes. The truck is equipped with power steering and the lifted suspension is fitted with quadruple shocks at each corner. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. The cab houses two fixed-position bucket seats upholstered in gray cloth with black vinyl backs accompanied by a black dash topper, door panel trim, and carpets. Woodgrain trim adorns the dash, and further equipment includes a roll cage, latch and link lap belts, Pioneer door speakers, overhead auxiliary switches and map lights, and a fire extinguisher mounted below the driver’s seat. The radio has been removed and the seller states that the air conditioning is inoperative. A Cobra-branded three-spoke steering wheel frames an 80-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges that do not function. An 8k-rpm tachometer is mounted atop the dashboard and readouts for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage are housed in an overhead console. The replacement five-digit mechanical odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 460ci V8 is said to have been installed around 2010 and is equipped with Cobra Jet aluminum heads, a four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum radiator, a remote oil filter, Ford SVO-branded valve covers, and Hooker headers. The carburetor does not have a choke and the engine runs rough during cold starts. The oil was changed in 2023. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C6 three-speed automatic transmission and a spool-style rear differential. A skid plate is mounted below the engine and a fuel cell is aft of the rear axle. A framed historical magazine article and photo can be viewed at the end of the photo gallery. The current New Mexico title carries a “Mileage in Excess of Mechanical Limits” odometer code.
