This 1979 Porsche 911SC was initially sold as a Targa model and was modified under previous ownership with Turbo-style bodywork and a black convertible top. Finished in Guards Red over black leather, the car is powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes fog lights, front and rear spoilers, Recaro front seats, a MOMO shift knob, power windows, and a CD stereo. The seller acquired the car on BaT in August 2023 and subsequent work included servicing the heating system, repairing oil leaks, and replacing the starter, spark plugs, and belts. This 911SC shows 58k miles and is offered with a tool kit, a binder of records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The car left the factory as a Guards Red Targa model and was modified with a black convertible top and Turbo-style steel bodywork before being refinished. Exterior details include H4 headlights, fog lights, a front chin spoiler, black stone guards, a tea-tray rear spoiler, and black rear bumperettes. A paint color variation is noted on the rear quarter panels. The 16″ Fuchs-style wheels are mounted with 205/55 front and 225/50 rear Hankook Ventus S1 Noble 2 tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors. The dampers are said to have been replaced in 2019. The Recaro front seats are upholstered in black leather with red stitching and perforated inserts complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, door panels, individual rear seats, and carpets. Appointments include power windows, Coco-style floor mats, a MOMO shift knob, and a Bluetooth-capable CD stereo linked to Polk speakers. The air conditioning does not work. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 58k miles, less than 1k of which were added under current ownership. The 3.0-liter flat-six was factory rated at 172 horsepower and 189 lb-ft of torque and features Bosch fuel injection. Service under current ownership consisted of changing the oil, and replacing the following components: Starter Heater boxes and heater control guide cable Spark plugs Accessory drive belts Oil return tubes Sump plate gasket Engine cover struts The air conditioning system is inoperative. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. The transaxle is said to have been overhauled in 2019 and the transaxle fluid was changed under current ownership.
