1987 Buick gal WE4 * 5,898 Original !
One of the lowest original miles Buick gal WE4 you will ever find! 5,898 miles!
I am the second owner. I bought this vehicle from the original owner with 5,100 back in 2010. The vehicle is original, with the exception of making it mechanically sound, and replacing the front and rear bumper fills with Spool Fool fiberglass fills.
A little history, Buick only made the WE4 in 1987, producing 1,547. They came with a 3.8L V6 . They were all automatics. fortunately, they were not numbered like the GNX (547 produced). This was the last year for the National (close to 21,000 produced). Buick decided, as a tribute, to manufacture the GNX, which quickly sold out. Because of the demand, and because many buyers could not afford the GNX or GN, Buick produced a light weight version of the GN that was cheaper in price. The Buick gal WE4 only came in black with a gray interior, yet it had the same engine, drive-train, and transmission as the GN. To boost sales, Buick advertised the WE4 as faster than the GN because of its lighter weight (e.g., aluminum wheels, bumper fills, and some had aluminum brake drums). These Buick’s were also called ” T” not to be confused with their predecessor, the
“T-type.”
It’s true, you could have purchased a 1987 T, light-weight, in a different color; however, only the WE4 came in all black. y mistaken the WE4 for the GN (makes for great conversation when you’re at a car show!).
Speaking of car shows, this WE4 has won (2) 1st place plaques and (1) 2nd place plaque. This WE4 has its original paint and has never been rained or snowed on. Always garaged. The interior is flawless, never smoked in. The engine is not modified; It still bears factory markings. There is a quarter size dent in the passenger B pillar trim. It can easily be stamped out or replaced. The A/C works; however, it only comes out the defrost and lower vent. This car is exceptionally light weight as it has no powered options except for steering, brakes, A/C, and radio. It is truly in a class of its own and turns heads everywhere it goes.
The mileage is correct and the vehicle is fully documented. a bonus, the buyer will receive (2) sets of T floor mats (gray and black), (2) rare 1987 service manuals, (2) acrylic vanity plates (WE4) for car shows, a rare under the dash piece manufactured by Kirban Performance, a WE4 diecast #447, a car show display sign, and the Kirban Performance book that provides the history of these wonderful cars.
