This 1996 BMW M3 coupe was acquired by the current owner in 2005 and subsequently converted to a race car that was campaigned in club racing and NASA ST3 events. Its 3.2-liter inline six has been modified with engine management software, headers, and an exhaust system. Shifting is through a five-speed manual transmission, and a Diffsonline limited-slip differential is equipped with 3.91 gears. The race-prepped cockpit houses a Cobra Sebring Pro racing seat with a Sparco harness as well as a TC Design roll cage, a Sparco steering wheel, an AIM digital display, a cool suit system, and a fire suppression system. Further racing modifications include carbon-fiber and fiberglass bodywork, an adjustable rear wing, and Apex EC-7 18″ wheels in addition to StopTech brakes, JRZ dampers, Eibach springs, and Ground control strut mounts and sway bars. This E36 M3 coupe race car is now offered by the seller with a clean California title in the owner’s name. Revised bodywork includes a carbon-fiber hood and sunroof cover in addition to fiberglass front and rear fender flares. Acrylic side and rear windows, a front splitter, and a Bimmerworld adjustable rear wing are also installed. The car left the factory finished in Estoril Blau Metallic and wears a green and black vinyl wrap. Apex EC-7 18″ wheels are fitted with 285/30 Hoosier A7 tires. Braking is handled by StopTech calipers over slotted discs at all four corners. JRZ adjustable dampers are paired with Eibach springs, and additional equipment includes Ground Control adjustable strut mounts and sway bars, a reinforced rear subframe, adjustable steering arms, TC Design front spindles, and polyurethane suspension mounts. The race-prepped cabin houses a single Cobra Sebring Pro racing seat equipped with a Sparco harness in addition to a TC Design roll cage, a cool suit system, and a fire suppression system. Switches for vehicle functions are housed ahead of the CAE shifter. The flat-bottom Sparco steering wheel is trimmed in microsuede and fronts an AIM digital display and data logger. An odometer is not present, and total mileage is unknown. The 3.2-liter S52 inline-six has been equipped with a 3.0L-specification intake manifold and Active Autowerke engine management software, headers, and exhaust system, per the seller. Work since 2019 has reportedly involved replacing the cylinder head gasket and the rod bearings, and additional modifications include the following components: 3.5 Bosch fuel injectors Sunbelt Race Cams racing springs Bimmerworld throttle body Bimmerworld aluminum air box Euro-spec oil pump & pickup Euro-spec oil pan, oil filter housing, and oil cooler Electric cooling fan Turner Motorsports pulleys Aluminum engine mounts Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and Diffsonline limited-slip differential with 3.91 gears.
