This 1996 Lamborghini Diablo VT roadster is one of approximately 466 produced between 1996 and 2000 and is powered by a 5.7-liter V12 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in Rosso Targa over beige leather with red piping, and features include front and rear limited-slip differentials, Viscous Traction all-wheel drive, 17″ OZ Racing five-spoke alloy wheels, Brembo brake calipers, a Quicksilver exhaust system, a removable hardtop, retractable headlights, scissor doors, air conditioning, an Alpine cassette stereo, a gated shifter, and fixed-back bucket seats. Service performed in preparation for the sale included an alternator rebuild and the installation of a replacement battery, fuel pressure regulator, fuel hoses, and spark plugs. This Diablo VT Roadster is now offered in Houston, Texas, as part of DriverSource’s The Gated Collection with service records, a tool kit, and a clean Pennsylvania title. The Marcello Gandini-designed Diablo debuted in January 1990 and featured composite and aluminum bodywork. This example is finished in Rosso Targa and features retractable headlights and scissor doors. Styling cues differentiating the roadster from the contemporary VT coupe include redesigned fog and marker lights, Lamborghini shields on the side pillars, and a body-color roof panel that secures to the engine cover when not in use. The front bumper was refinished in July 2023. Photos showing finish imperfections and paint meter readings are included in the gallery. The 17″ OZ Racing five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 245/40 front and 335/35 rear Pirelli P Zero tires showing 2022 date codes. Brembo brake calipers are stationed at all four corners. The brake fluid was flushed in July 2023, and the front suspension lifter is said to only raise halfway. The cabin features fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in beige leather with red piping that extends to the center console, lower dash, and doors. Amenities include a gated shifter, air conditioning an Alpine cassette stereo, power windows, and Lamborghini-branded floor mats. An Alpine amplifier is stationed in the front trunk. A power mirror adjuster switch was replaced in preparation for the sale. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 220-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline as well as auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, and fuel level. A suspension alert light remains illuminated. The six-digit odometer shows 37k kilometers (~23k miles), approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. The Carfax report shows mileage inconsistencies in December 2005, May 2007, and March 2023. The 5.7-liter V12 was factory rated at 492 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque. A Quicksilver exhaust system was fitted in July 2023, and additional service conducted this year has included an oil change, an alternator rebuild, and the installation of a replacement battery, fuel pressure regulator, fuel hoses, and spark plugs. Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, front and rear limited-slip differentials, and Viscous Traction all-wheel drive. The Carfax report is free from accidents or other damage, shows the aforementioned mileage inconsistencies, and lists registration history in Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania.
