This 1998 Bentley Azure is is #8 of the 10 California Edition cars produced, and all of which were finished in Silver Pearl over Silverstone and Slate leather. California Edition features include flared wheel arches, a revised air dam, a unique rear bumper cover, and special interior trim with extended wood accents. The car is powered by a turbocharged 6.75-liter V8 linked to a four-speed automatic transmission, and other equipment includes a power-retractable black convertible soft top, quad headlights, a mesh front grille, 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels, heated and power-adjustable front seats, burl walnut interior trim, and automatic climate control. This special-edition Azure has 14k miles and is now offered on dealer consignment with the owner’s manual, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title. The first generation Azure was developed in collaboration with Pininfarina and was based on the Continental R. The Azure’s bodywork and convertible top were built by Pininfarina in Italy and then transported to the UK for final assembly at Crewe. All California Edition cars were finished in Silver Pearl, and this example features a power-retractable black convertible soft top, quad headlights, a mesh front grille, widebody fenders, a California Edition-specific rear bumper, and a single exhaust outlets. The 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Pirelli tires. The car rides on an electronically controlled suspension system, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs at each corner. The cabin houses heated and power-adjustable front seats and individual rear seats, all of which are upholstered in two-tone Silverstone and Slate leather. Burl walnut trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include wool carpets, front-seat position memory, and automatic climate control. California Edition examples also included color-coordinated speaker grille surrounds and grilles, a serialized tread plate plaque, a wooden gear lever, and additional wood veneer door accents. The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 170-mph speedometer and a 5k-rpm tachometer. Instrumentation housed in the center stack includes an analog clock and an outside temperature gauge in addition to gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, fuel level, turbo boost, coolant temperature, and voltage. The digital odometer indicates 14k miles, nearly all of which were added under current ownership. The turbocharged and intercooled 6.75-liter V8 features a single Garrett turbocharger and was factory rated at 385 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage.
