1999 Shelby Series 1 silver with blue stripes

This 1999 Shelby Series 1. The Series 1 was designed by Shelby American and was manufactured at the company’s facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The carbon-fiber and fiberglass laminate bodywork on this example is finished in silver with dual blue center stripes, and additional exterior details include a black retractable soft top, a heat extractor hood, fog lights, and fender vents along with heated side mirrors, a chrome flip-up fuel filler cap, and dual exhaust outlets. Three-piece 18″ wheels wear Shelby-branded center caps and are mounted with Falken Azenis RT660 tires showing 2021 date codes. The Shelby Series 1 features an aluminum chassis with independent suspension that incorporates forged-aluminum control arms, push-rod-operated inboard rocker arms, adjustable Multimatic Dynamic remote-reservoir dampers with coilover springs, and front and rear sway bars. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. The cockpit houses bucket seats trimmed in black leather with gray inserts and Carroll Shelby’s signature embroidered on the backrests. Equipment includes a carbon-fiber shift knob, air conditioning, a Monsoon CD/cassette stereo, and polished Shelby American-branded door sill plates as well as power windows and door locks. The Oldsmobile-sourced 4.0L Aurora L47 V8 is equipped with carbon-fiber covers and intake tubing, a Borla stainless-steel exhaust system, and a Shelby-specific engine management system and camshafts. Factory-rated output was 320 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle made by RBT Transmissions with ZF components.
