2005 Panoz Esperante

This 2005 Panoz Esperante GTLM Roadster is powered by a supercharged 4.6-liter Ford DOHC V8 that has been fitted with a stage 1 performance package and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It spent time in Texas and Georgia before it was acquired by the seller in 2011 and relocated to Florida and then Arizona. Finished in gray over tan leather, the car is equipped with a black soft top, 18″ BBS wheels, cross-drilled rotors, and Magnaflow mufflers in addition to a MOMO steering wheel, carbon-fiber trim, an Alpine CD head unit, and a trunk-mounted amplifier and subwoofer. This Esperante GTLM is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a Panoz-branded duffel bag and helmet, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name. The Esperante features an extruded aluminum chassis mounted with steel subframes and superplastic-formed aluminum body panels. The GTLM was a homologation model that received revised front and rear styling, and this example is finished in gray and equipped with a black soft top, yellow-tinted headlight lenses, and tinted windows. The seller reports that areas of road rash around the body were touched up. BBS 18″ wheels are finished in gray and mounted with 255/40 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel cross-drilled discs. The bolstered seats are trimmed in tan leather, while carbon-fiber trim accents the center console, dashboard, and door panels. Appointments include air conditioning, drilled pedals, and an Alpine CD stereo linked to a JL Audio subwoofer and an amplifier housed in the trunk. A leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel sits to the left of the central instrument cluster, which contains an SVT-branded tachometer as well as a 160-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 34k miles, approximately 9k of which were added under current ownership. The supercharged 4.6-liter DOHC V8 found in the GTLM was sourced from Ford’s Special Vehicle Team, and this example was equipped with a stage 1 package by JRD tuning of Hoschton, Georgia in 2009. Magnaflow mufflers are also fitted. A plate in the engine bay is etched with the names of the build team, while another bears the name “Donna.” Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec T56 six-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential.
