This 2008 Tesla Roadster features a 53-kilowatt-hour battery pack powering a three-phase AC induction motor linked to a single-speed transmission. Finished in Twilight Blue Metallic over Cream leather, it is equipped with a removable body-color roof panel, a black removable soft top, 16″ and 17″ split-spoke wheels, heated sport seats, air conditioning, carbon-fiber interior trim, and an aftermarket JVC stereo with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The car was sold new in California and was purchased by the seller from its original owner on BaT in May 2023. Previously offered by the seller on BaT in August 2023, this Roadster now has 43k miles and is offered again with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a high-power wall charger, charging cables, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Louisiana title in the seller’s name. The Tesla Roadster was based on the aluminum tub from the contemporary Lotus Elise, with which it shared its windshield and windshield frame. The remainder of the carbon-fiber body panels were unique to the Tesla, which featured a 2″ longer wheelbase than the Elise. This example is finished in Twilight Blue Metallic and is equipped with a removable body-color roof panel, a black removable soft top, an exterior charging port, and LED taillights. The front bumper cover was refinished in 2016 when the headlights were also reconditioned. The headlight lenses show crazing that can be seen close-up in the gallery below. The photos were taken in July 2023. The 16″ and 17″ split-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Yokohama Advan Neova front and Falken Azenis rear tires, the latter of which were installed under current ownership. The car is equipped with traction control as well as front and rear independent wishbone suspension with co-axial coil springs and telescopic dampers. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with a regenerative braking system. The cabin features heated sport seats upholstered in Cream leather with matching door panel inserts and a black dashboard. Additional appointments comprise air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, carbon-fiber trim, and an aftermarket JVC stereo with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 13k-rpm redline. A configurable multifunction LCD screen is mounted to the left of the steering column. The digital odometer indicates 43k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. A 53-kilowatt-hour battery pack powers a three-phase, four-pole AC induction motor featuring a hand-wound stator. Factory-rated output was 248 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque. A cooling system with dual electric puller fans is located in the front trunk. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a BorgWarner single-speed transmission. A Tesla-branded high-power wall charger and connector cable are included in the sale along with 110- and 220-volt charging cables, manufacturer’s literature, service records, two keys, and Tesla-related period literature. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California and Louisiana.
